Herald
- Maintains a current membership in the SCA;
- Is directly responsible to the Baroness for Baronial issues related to the Herald's Office.
- Coordinates Baronial presentations with Chamberlain and Chief Lady in Waiting;
- Is the immediate superior, for Baronial issues, to the Archivist and Scribe;
- Confers with the Seneschal and other officers and all others in the Barony, to the extent required by law and to the extent necessary for efficient operation of the Barony;
- Maintains local Order of Precedence;
- Maintains a roster of local heralds in Starkhafn;
- Coordinates Herald's office attendance at officers and populace meetings.
- Advances and facilitates the advancement of heraldry and heraldic knowledge, both within and outside the SCA;
Book Heraldry:
- Coordinates with deputy heralds on consultations with and advisement of any person in the Starkhafn geographic area on questions regarding submission of heraldic devices, names and other matters to be brought before the Crescent Principal Herald and Caid College of Heralds for approval;
- Responsible for delivery to the monthly Caid College of Heralds meetings any submissions obtained within the preceding month;
- Notifies submitters of the results of the processing of their submissions;
- Maintains local files on heraldic items in work, submitted from Starkhafn or registered to members of Starkhafn;
- Coordinates status of all heraldic items registered to the Barony;
Voice Heraldry:
- Provides guidelines for local court, field, and site heralding and coordinates heralds at all local events for courts, tournament lists and site announcements ;
- Acts as the voice for the Baron and Baroness;
Reporting:
- Reports to the Starkhafn Seneschal and Starkhafn Baron and Baroness monthly.
- Reports to the Crescent Principal Herald

- Event report for every local event with awards given and lists of all who handled heraldic functions at these events;
- 3 status reports for Jan - Apr, May - Aug and Sept to Dec (attendance at Kingdom College of Heralds meetings can substitute for status reports);
- 1 Domesday report covering the entire year.
- Reports to the Keeper of the Caid Order of Precedence
- Event report for every local report that has awards given;
- Sends and conveys copies of all reports to Seneschal, Baron and Baroness, Chronicler and Webwright, and Historian.
Possesses for the Barony:
- A current copy of the Rules for Submission
- The SCA Armorial and Ordinary
- Copies of the monthly SCA Letter of Acceptance and Returns
- Copies of the monthly Caid College of Heralds meeting minutes,
- Kingdom and local ceremonies,
- Appropriate heraldic insignia (baldric/tabard),
- A copy of the Caid College of Heralds roster,
- A copy of the Caid College of Heralds Library,
- A copy of the Caid Order of Precedence.
Baronial Scribe:
- Maintains a current membership in the SCA;
- Reports to Baronial Herald and Kingdom Scribe Armorius;
- Coordinates and tracks assignments from Scribe Armorius to local scribes;
- Maintains copies of texts for Baronial and Kingdom Scrolls;
- Maintains copies of scrolls for Baronial and Kingdom Honours;
- Maintains baronial seal;
- Maintains Baronial order tokens;
Baronial Archivist:
- No set of duties collated
