Hot August Knights!

Greetings Good Gentles!
The Barony of Starkhafn is proud to host our annual dance event Hot August Knights on Saturday August 16th 2008. The year’s theme will be a Starkhafn Prom Night-Class of 2008! We encourage you to be creative and come dressed in your best medieval prom attire. Think: What would a teenager in the middle ages have worn to a prom.. and RUN WITH IT!

1 Picture of you and your consort will be taken at the door and will be included in your site fee. Additional Pictures are available for a $1.00 per photo. Flowers will be available for you to purchase since corsages are a MUST for proms. We will also be voting for the 2008 Prom King and Queen.

Of course chaperones will be present at all times and we will be keeping an eye out for spiked punch!

There are restaurants in the local area where you can go for lunch. A light dinner will be provided so be sure and bring your basic feast gear. In addition we will be serving traditional prom items such as punch and cake.

We will be dancing all day from site open to site close with a few breaks for refreshments in between.

Rennaisance Faire!

We're once again taking part in the grand pageantry of the Rennaisance Faire and we need your help! We need volunteers to help out with all forms of activities, from Set up to Tear down and everything in between... Manning the display/demo booths, helping with the children's activities, and just clean up in general. It all requires volunteers... And what do you, the volunteer get out of it? Provided you are a paid SCA member, you get free entrance (provided you do volunteer for a period of time, no free lunches sorry...) and the privilege of camping in probably one of the cooler encampments at the fair if I do say so myself, and I just did.

If you wish to volunteer, you may either contact one of the three Autocrats for the event, Baron Aonnarach (and I probably spelled that wrong..), Lady Fatinah, or Lord Bercilak, most easily accomplished by sending e-mail to renfair at starkhafn.org or you can go to our web form to sign up.

Please help out, it is our biggest chance to shine amongst the community and boost our membership as well...
